The Design Process

Exploration

The first step is meeting with us to brainstorm what message you would like to present to your target audience with your print item and how you are going to use it.

The next step is to decipher what type or types of print items you’re after i.e. business cards, postcards, envelopes, etc. We offer a variety of paper stock, sizing options, special print effects and we always strive to match custom requests.

Our customer representative and designers are always happy to meet with you in person or over the phone to discuss your ideas.

The Mockup

Next, we dive into the proofing process, we will mock up different layout ideas based on our meeting.

We then reproof the design as needed to make sure we get the layout dialed down to just how you envisioned.

We always welcome phone call discussions and in person meetings to help minimize reproofs as well.

Finalizing Your Print Project

Once the design is finalized, we move forward with the printing process.

In addition, we always save your artwork on file – for any future advertising you may need.

Types of Special Effects

Business cards, as well as other media such as postcards and gift certificates, have the option

  • Spot UV – pops of glossy finish on a matte or silk background
  • Raised spot UV – raised/touchable layer of glossy finish
  • Colored edge – variety of eye-catching colors available
  • Square shape – and other custom sizes available
  • Rounded corners – different sizing and location available
  • Perforation – tear away option
  • Metallic ink – variety of colors available
  • Die-cut – cut to a custom shape
  • Extra thick – multilayered cards
  • Embossing/debossing – thick stock with design stamped into/out of card
  • Inner layer die-cut – thick stock with custom design cut out of outer layer
